How much Business Intelligence Salary– The average basic salary compensation is S$4,750 for a junior software engineer; S$6,500 and S$7,500 respectively for mid-level and senior software engineers, and S$9,000 for lead levels.

Over the past twelve months, average salaries for software engineers in Singapore have reached an all-time high after increasing by up to 32%, the new Tech Talent Compensation Report 2021/2022 has revealed.

For example, a report released today (Monday 14 February 2022) by NodeFlair and Quest Ventures noted that the average basic salary compensation is S$4,750 for a junior software engineer; S$6,500 and S$7,500 respectively for mid-level and senior software engineers, and S$9,000 for lead levels.

The percentile rose to S$7,500; middle and senior software engineers can command S$9,500 and S$11,500, and lead software engineers can command a base salary of S$15,950.

According to the report, this rise in tech salaries “isn’t slowing down anytime soon” as more talent prioritizes pay packages as the top reason when looking for new opportunities.

In addition to the above, the report showcased the top 15 most sought-after companies among Singaporean tech talent and analyzed how well these companies paid software engineers against the market rate.

According to the report, nine out of 15 (60%) of these companies paid talent more than, or equal to, 25% above the market average. Overall, most paid more than, or equal to, 12% above market media.

The salary data for the report is derived from NodeFlair’s proprietary database of over 30,000 records from companies of all sizes and industries. This included user submissions supported by documents (paychecks and offer letters) as well as job postings from various aggregates from various job portals for 2021.

Meanwhile, wage data for India and Indonesia was derived from over 5,300 data points from companies of all sizes and industries.

Titles and seniority may vary from company to company. For example, smaller startups might award the title of senior software engineer to an engineer with three years of experience, but a much more established company might only award the same title to someone with more than eight years of experience.

Junior: Usually have zero to two years of experience. Mostly fresh graduates or first-time engineers.

Intermediate: Typically have two to five+ years of experience. Able to mentor juniors and lead small projects from end to end.

Senior: Typically have five+ years of experience. Expected to own complex technical initiatives and have more responsibility in design rather than implementation.

Principal: They have acquired deep practical experience and usually report directly to the senior management of their company. Titles include “Chief Engineer” and “Staff Engineer”

Leading: Main responsibilities include leading a small team in technical areas. It may occasionally be involved in people management, but much less often. Titles include “technical leadership” and “team leadership.”

Director: Have a deep understanding of the market and the latest technologies. Key responsibilities include innovation and providing technical direction for the company. Titles include “CTO”, “Director of Engineering”, “VP/President of Engineering (excluding some banking and government organizations)”, “Head of Engineering”, etc.
